Dōsojin are gods or spirits associated with roads, travel and protection during journeys. I bought these delightful paper masks representing these travel-gods when I first arrived in Japan (so a very long time ago!) and now they're hanging above the sink in my California kitchen. Everytime I look at them, they remind me of all the good luck I've had in all the places I've traveled to and have lived in.
I trust this trio to keep me grounded in whatever journey I'm on, be it physical, emotional or spiritual. When I look up at them I'm reminded that I have the ability to protect my inner peace and move through life with purpose without forgetting how lucky I am.
Do you have a talisman to keep you safe while you travel?
