Getting to Wanikani Level 40 in 'just' 10 years!

Getting to Wanikani Level 40 in 'just' 10 years!

There are 60 levels in WaniKani, and I just made it to level 40 for the first time since I joined Wanikani in 2015. Yep, that's right, that took me 10 years, just a little while longer than the 'just over a year' in the ad below 😂

The 'for the first time' says it all, I reset myself to level 10 a little more over a year ago because I fell of the wagon since leaving Japan. Now I'm on a roll, it takes me about 30 minutes every morning to review my current lessons and I try to learn new stuff during the weekend.

The trick is consistency, not overextending. Learn too many new kanji or words and the review time goes up exponentially. Which is why I reset myself to level 10 - I had reached 1000+ reviews 🤯

Anyway, I'm not getting paid for this but I really love my 'for life' subscription. I'm pretty sure once I reach level 60 I might reset again just to keep everything fresh.

How do you remember your kanji & vocab while living abroad?
